Hipkins, age 80, of Shelbina, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Charles was born March 27, 1938, in Shelbina, Missouri, the son of Roger Edwin and Mabel Lillian (Bastian) Hipkins. He was united in marriage to Beverly June Hipkins on April 6, 1980 in Randolph County.

She survives. He is survived by his children, Crystal Perrigo (Dennis) of Shelbina, Missouri, Clint Hipkins of Shelbina, April Schmitz (Dustin) of Shelbina, Gary Hipkins (Heather) of Shelbina, Diane Gliser (Jason) of Moberly, Missouri, Will Todd (Kelly) of St. Peters, Missouri, and raising two grandchildren, Candance Hipkins of Shelbina and Charlene Brengle (Jason) of Shelbina, after the passing of his daughter, Loretta; grandchildren, Amanda, Rebecca, Brittani (Kyle), Dakota, Kyle, Amber, Tyeshia, Ajeha, Ryver, Gage, Jase, Tatum, William, Autumn, and Faith; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Jaunita Ives of Shelbina and Mary McDonald of Kirksville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Loretta Hipkins.

Charles was a member to the Masonic Lodge in Shelbina. For 43 years, he worked for the IGA grocery store in Shelbina. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

He always loved spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6pm to 7:30pm on Thursday evening, with a Masonic service following at 7:30pm at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Shelby County Senior Citizens, or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
