George “Dick” Richard Ratliff December 15, 1941 – February 04, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card George Richard “Dick” Ratliff, age 77, of Clarence, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Shelbina Villa, in Shelbina, Missouri. George was born on December 15, 1941, in Shelby County, Missouri, the son of Lawrence Joseph and Lillian Carrie (Burkhardt) Ratliff. He was united in marriage to Carole Jean Tipton on September 23, 1971 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Macon, Missouri.

She survives. He is survived by his two children, Christine Buzzard of Shelbina, Missouri, and Ben Ratliff and wife Chrisandra of Clarence, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jake Buzzard, Morgan Ratliff, Joe Buzzard, Josie Ratliff, Lindsey Ratliff, and Case Ratliff; two sisters, Lucille Magill of Salina, Kansas, and Anne McKinney of Moberly, Missouri; and one brother, Joe Ratliff of Clarence, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Ratliff; and one sister, Mary Thrasher.

George served in the United States Army in Vietnam for one tour. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Clarence, Missouri, a lifelong member of Clarence VFW, and a member of the Clarence Special Road District. George spent his life on the farm, caring for livestock and being a grain farmer.

He enjoyed looking for arrowheads, coon hunting, and being outdoors. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 10am at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Clarence, Missouri.

A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4pm to 7pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, Missouri. Burial will be held in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery near Clarence, Missouri. Memorials may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors and St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
