John William Haverfield April 22, 1925 – February 05, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card John William “Jack” Haverfield, 93, of Macon, MO, passed away on Tuesday, February 05, 2019, at the Boone County Medical Center in Columbia, MO. Jack was born on April 22, 1925, in Seattle, WA, the son of John Calvin and Mable Hortense (Smith) Haverfield. He served in the Merchant Marines and was honorably discharged from the Army Transport Service of the Coast Guard.

Jack was united in marriage to Mary “Jen” Lang on November 21, 1956, in Kansas City, MO. He worked as a civil and materials engineer for most of his life and attended the United Methodist Church in Macon. Jack is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families, and other friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother, and his wife. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, February 8, 2019, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, with Rev. Carl Knapp officiating.

Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon, until the time of service, at the funeral home.
