Richard Edward “Dick” Neel, Jr., aka “Cowboy”, 62, husband of Janice McCutcheon Neel, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 after an illness. Dick was born on July 29, 1955 in Mansfield, Ohio, son of the late Richard Edward Neel, Sr. and Sarah Warr Neel. He was a member of Gilead Free Will Baptist Church.

Dick was a loving son, husband, dad, papa, grandpa, uncle and father-in-law. Surviving is his wife of 31 years, Janice McCutcheon Neel of Lake City; children, Marshall (Sandy) Neel, Rita Neel (Nate “Bacon” Hunt), Kimberly (Randy) Avant and George (Amanda) Ray; grandchildren, Sinclair (Lyssa) Smith, Lisa Marie Floyd, Emmett Floyd (Erin Stalvey), Stephanie “Nator” McGee, Keeley “KeeKee” McGee, Trinadee “Tink” McGee, Alainia Ray, Olivia Ray, Gary “Scooter” Mixon, Jr. and Desi Wright; great grandchildren, Dalton Smith and Adrianna Floyd; siblings, Debra (William) Wilkes, Donna (Brad) Welch, Connie (Rod) Bennett, Robert (Celeste) Neel and Patrick (Kathi) Neel; several nieces & nephews; special friend, Donnie Abrams; two former sons-in-law, Stephen McGee and Kenny Brown. Dick was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Natalie Smith; brothers, James Neel and David Neel.

Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Gilead Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service and other times at the home of Marshall and Sandy Neel, 4045 North Old Georgetown Road, Scranton.
