Robert Charles Powers, 76 years old, passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Walkerton. Bob was born on October 30, 1941 in North Liberty to the late Raymond Powers, Sr. and Mabel (Ranstead) Powers. He has remained a lifelong resident of North Liberty.

Bob retired from Wells Aluminum in North Liberty after 36 years of employment. He enjoyed his time with friends at the American Legion and VFW, both in North Liberty, and the Moose Lodge in Plymouth. Bob also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, flowers and bowling.

Bob is survived by his three sisters, Mary Powers Rexstrew of South Bend, Ruth Powers (Rudy) DePaepe of Hendersonville, NC, and Audrey Powers Rice of Walkerton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by the sorrowful loss of a brother, Raymond Powers, Jr. of Elkhart; two sisters, Rita Powers Eby of Walkerton and Beverly Powers Bryan of Plymouth; and a special nephew, James Powers of Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty, IN. Pastor Wayne Joyner will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.

Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Robert C. Powers may be donated to North Liberty American Legion, 308 S. Reed Street, North Liberty, IN 46554. Bob enjoyed helping his friends and family and will be missed by all.
