Robert J. Querio, 85, of Vandergrift, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at AHN- West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born March 22, 1933 in Vandergrift, he was a son of the late John P. & Rose M. (Ravicchio) Querio. Robert was a 1951 graduate of Vandergrift High School, and proudly served our country with the United States Army during the Korean War.

Robert was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Vandergrift. He was hard worker all of his life, and most enjoyed spending time with his family, “shootin’ the bull”.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine M. (Lattanzi) Querio, who passed away on October 6, 1996; and his brother-in-law, Victor DeSantis. He is survived by his children, Robert J. (Floyd Atherton) Querio, II, of Sarver, Pam J. Querio of Pasadena, MD, Randy J. (Cynthia Gadola) Querio of Allegheny Township; grandchildren, Eric Gadola of Oakmont, David (Melinda) McDonnell of Pasadena, MD, Marissa McDonnell of Pasadena, MD; great granddaughter, Charlotte; sisters, Angela DeSantis of Cabot, Sandra (Wallace) Magness of Sarasota, FL; companion, Joann Russo of Vandergrift; and nieces and nephews. At Robert’s request, there will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, with military honors accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brady-Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Vandergrift, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions be made in Robert’s memory to the American Red Cross, 2801 Liberty Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
