Obituary for Robert W. Haltner Robert W. Haltner, 89, of Newington, husband of Jean (Steiner) Haltner, passed away Saturday (December 29, 2018) at his home. A Newington native and lifelong resident, he was son of the late Frank and Julia (Maier) Haltner. A graduate of Newington High School, Class of 1947, Bob served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for 38 years, retiring in 1992. He was also a farmer in Newington with his brother Oscar at the family farm. Besides his wife Jean, he leaves several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with committal prayers will be held Friday 10 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. There are no calling hours.
