Roger Glen Riggs July 30, 1948 – January 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Roger Glen Riggs, age 70, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away Monday, January 28, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. Roger was born July 30, 1948 in Battletown, KY, son of the late Charles Lester and Ila May Bennett Riggs. His sister, Audrey Laverne Riggs Carlton also preceded him in death.

Roger retired from the City of Louisville Parks Department in 2014 where he especially loved working in Otter Creek Park. Roger was known as the “Jeep Man” around town and could always be found tinkering on old cars and jeeps. He enjoyed going to drag races and being outdoors as much as possible.

He is survived by his two daughters, Christina (Richard) Martin and Katherine (Kevin) Pulley of Louisville, KY; four sisters: Linda Murphy and Kathy (Mike) Beard of Brandenburg, Vanessa (David) Wright of Ekron, KY, and Karen (Justin) Morgan of Muldraugh, KY; brother, Leslie Riggs of Brandenburg; granddaughter, Stephanie K. (Eddie) Paulin; great-grandson, Walter E. Paulin; his very special friend, Alice Marlene Johnston and her daughters, April Strawser and Theresa Colangelo; and eight nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM EST from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg with burial will follow in Rock Haven Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM EST and Saturday, February 2 after 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
