Obituary of Ronald “Ronnie” E. Scott Ronald “Ronnie” E. Scott, 75, from Marion, passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, in his home surrounded by his family. Ronnie was born on January 20, 1944, in Marion, the son of the late Robert Scott and Madonna (Williams) Scott, who survives. Ronnie graduated in 1962 from Swayzee.

He was the owner of Scott’s Citgo. A Marine Vietnam Vet, Ronnie served in Khe Sanh. Following his military service, he was a supervisor in the Transportation Department at the VA Medical Center.

He retired after 30 years of service. Ronnie enjoyed being outdoors, especially golfing and fishing. He also enjoyed cooking and had a great love for cars and Corvettes.

He was a good man, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and he will be deeply missed. Survivors include his mother, Madonna (Williams) Scott; son, Douglas “Doug” (Stacey) Scott, Fort Wayne; mother of his son, Sue Scott, Marion; 6 grandchildren: Brianne Scott, ID; Aaron Scott, AFB SD; Megan, Emerson, Adelyn, and Everett Scott, Fort Wayne; 3 sisters: Shirley Cole, Carmel; Carolyn (Richard Kay) Heaton, Elwood; Judi (Thomas) Riggs, Hackleman; 2 brothers: Charles “Chuck” (Linda) Scott, Syracuse; William “Bill” (Carol) Scott, Rigdon; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Amy Coolman; and many life-long great friends. Ronnie is preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Dorothy Scott; father, Robert Scott; brother-in-law, David Cole; nephew, Aaron Gregory Scott; and granddaughter, Arden Scott.

The family will receive visitors from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Ronnie’s funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
