Landis, 82, of Sellersville, PA; formerly of Lederach, PA passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem. He was the loving companion of the late Florence A. Distel. Russ was born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania to the late Henry M. Landis and the late Laura (Hunsberger) Landis.

He attended Lower Salford Elementary School. Russ served as an Armor Intelligence Specialist in the United States Army. He worked as a roofer for the former Richard Gamble Roofing Company in Harleysville (now known as Hart Mechanical Company of Perkasie), and then as a driver for Manheim Auto Auction in Hatfield.

Russ was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1539 in Sellersville. He was a hardworking, quiet and reserved man who loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, watching sports, and had a big interest in muscle cars. Russ is survived by his son, Pernel Landis of Grove City, OH; his two grandchildren – Jesse & Lindsay; his two sisters, Marian Jones & husband, Robert of Columbia, PA, Beulah Haffley of Perkasie, PA; his brother, Kenneth Landis & wife, Leona of Perkasie, PA; and his half-brother, Linford Landis of Souderton, PA.

In addition to his parents and companion, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Landis and his three half-brothers, Henry, Ellis, & Paul Landis. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 am at Perkasie Mennonite Church, 320 W. Chestnut Street, Perkasie, PA. 18944.

Inurnment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Luke’s Hospice House, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015. On the memo line, please write ‘endowment fund’ or donate online at 5639.
