Ruth Ann Miller Gamble Our beautiful, sweet, angel of a mother left this life on February 25, 2019. She began her journey in West Virginia on July 21, 1936, as the first daughter of Mary Vest and Addison H. Miller. She grew up running around the hills of West Virginia with her siblings, often without shoes.

She said they were poor but did not really notice or mind much because everyone else around them was too. Her oldest brother, Harold Miller, joined the military and was stationed at Hill Air Force Base. She missed him and came to Utah for a visit.

She didn’t have enough money to go back home so she got a job and thus began her life in Utah. She met our dad, Richard R Gamble, and always said it was love at first sight. They were married in November of 1956.

We always felt that our dad had the perfect wife and we had the perfect mother. He had a wild streak, was an entrepreneur and always had some deal going and was gone a lot. She always filled the gaps and was the glue and force that held everything together.

We, her family, were her treasures. She loved us all fiercely and spent her life serving us. As we got older, she joined our dad full-time in his business ventures.

She was smart, organized and hard-working. He became very successful with her by his side. They had a lot of fun working together and traveling together in their motor home.

In her later years she struggled immensely with health issues but did so with courage and without complaint. She was sweet and kind and loved by all who knew her. Our hearts feel broken, but we find comfort that she is no longer suffering.

We feel so blessed that she was our mother. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert, her husband, Richard, and her siblings, Jackie, LeRoy and Harold. She is survived by her siblings, Linda Weikel, Barbara Morgan, Marvin Miller, Bill Miller, and Darlene Anglin: her children Debbie (Gene) McDonald, Ronnie (Robyn) Gamble, Randy Gamble, 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

A public viewing will be held Sunday, March 3rd, 6-8 pm, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. , Ogden, Utah. The family is having a celebration of her life on Monday.

Our sincerest thanks to her neighbors and the members of her ward who were always so sweet to her and to the wonderful staff and hospice workers who cared for her at Apple Tree Assisted Living.
