Obituary for Ruth Kreiser Tabakelis Ruth Kreiser Tabakelis, 81, of Morgantown died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in her residence. She was the wife of John P. Tabakelis to whom she was married 26 years and the late Lawrence E. Kreiser who died in 1988, to whom she was married 31 years. Born in Quentin, PA on February 19, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Selma King Wenger.

She retired as a registered nurse from the Coatesville VA Medical Center. Prior to working there, she served as an occupational nurse at Grace Mines in Morgantown. Ruth was a 1954 graduate of Cornwall High School and a 1957 graduate of Lancaster General Hospital Nursing School.

She was a member of the Wyomissing Church of the Brethren. Her restored family farm was a true labor of love for her and her first husband in their early family years, spending countless hours remodeling the neglected home and surrounding property. It was only fitting that she died there on Tuesday surrounded by her loving family.

Surviving in addition to her second husband are two daughters: Susan M. Hess partner of Joseph Donato of Mays Landing, NJ; Sally K. wife of George G. Dohner of Ellicott City, MD; a son Stephen L. husband of Ralene Kreiser of Pennsylvania Furnace; 6 grandchildren; a sister Elaine, wife of Donald Fair of Annville; step-sons John Tabakelis, Jr. of Coatesville; George Tabakelis of Reading; step-daughter Rita Lebo of Reading; 11 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren; and her canine companion Morgan. At Ruth’s request, services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to the Wyomissing Church of the Brethren, 2200 State Hill Road, Wyomissing, PA, 19610 in her memory.
