Obituary for Sammie Willene Pierce Sammie Willene Pierce, 87, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018. She was born March 18, 1931 to Sam and Lottie Staton in Braggs, Oklahoma, where she was raised and attended school. Sammie worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 10 years and for Muskogee Public Schools for 21 years, retiring in May of 1991.

She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Pierce; brother and sister-in-law, Edwin Leo and Delores Staton; sister and brother-in-law, Corine and George Bryson; and one brother-in-law, Brodie Jones. Sammie is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and David Thomson, Lisa and Neil Workman, all of Muskogee; grandchildren, Jamie and Chad Singleton, Katie Thomson, Brandon Workman, Ben and Michelle Workman; four great-grandchildren, Haley and Caden Singleton, Claire and Hannah Workman; brother and sister-in-law, Hulin and Lois Staton; sister, Roberta Jones; along with several nieces and nephews, other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.

Funeral services celebrating Sammie’s life will be 10AM, Friday, June 15, 2018 at Southeast Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Murray and Pastor Ben Workman officiating. Interment will follow at South Bethel Cemetery with David Thomson, Neil Workman, Brandon Workman, Ben Workman, Chad Singleton, Joey Schlup, and Caden Singleton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Singleton, Katie Thomson, Hannah Workman, Claire Workman, Michelle Workman, Haley Singleton, and members of the Emmanuel Class of SEBC.
