Obituary for Gary G. Sharp Gary Gene Sharp, 76, of Muskogee, Oklahoma went to his Heavenly home Friday, July 27, 2018. He was born September 1, 1941 in Muskogee to Lowell and Sylvia Sharp. He grew up in Muskogee where he graduated from Muskogee Central High School.
Gary married the love of his life, Linda Carolyn Delaney, on January 2, 1960 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. They shared more than 58 years of life and marriage together. He worked as a salesman for Wonder Bread and Frito Lay for many years.
Gary would later become the owner of Yorkshire Yogurt Shop and retired in 1989. He was an active and faithful member of Boulevard Christian Church for many years. Gary’s hobbies were playing the electric bass, cooking, drawing, stained glass, wood working, carving, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia.
He will always be remembered as a “do it all”, fixer upper handyman. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Sylvia Sharp. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; daughters, Angie Wright (Chris) of Jenks, OK, Valerie Smith (Lee) of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Sean Holton (Jessica) of Kingsport, TN, Megan DeJesus (Eric) of Watkinsville, GA, Meredith Davis, Austin Holton, both of Valdosta, GA, Pierce Wright of Jenks, Fallan Hedges (Trey) of Tulsa, Sommer Wright of Jenks; great-grandchildren, Cade, Brandt, Karis Holton, Senna, Phoebe DeJesus, Lydia Davis, Rowan (Wright) Johnson, Camden Smith, Sydney Smith, Grayson Smith (Savannah); along with other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 5-7PM, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating Gary’s life will be 10AM, Friday, August 3, 2018 at Boulevard Christian Church with Minister James McCracken officiating.
