Sarah Elizabeth Moore Wagner, 96, wife of the late Harry G. Wagner, died Monday, May 20, 2019, at her residence, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Wagner was born in Scranton, on March 24, 1923, a daughter of the late John Henry Moore and Sarah “Sadie” Amanda Lawrence Moore. She was a member of High Hill Free Will Baptist Church, Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary and Lake City Senior Citizens.

Surviving are her daughter, Pamilla “Pam” A. James of Lake City; sons, James B. (Deborah) Helmer, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Steve (Donna) Helmer, Sr. of Johnsonville and Rick (Angela) Helmer of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Stephen (Kim) Helmer, Jr. of Lake City, Lee Helmer of Johnsonville, Heather James of Lake City; Ricky (Hana) Helmer of Myrtle Beach, Crystal (Robbie) Mew of Aynor, Kevin Helmer of Olanta, Jeffrey Helmer of Florence, KY and Sarah Helmer of Cincinnati, OH; great grandchildren, John Tyler, III, Bryan (Kalyn) Tyler, Briana McCutcheon (Jonathan) Bass, Ethan Helmer, Stephen Helmer, III, Hailey Helmer, Radley Mew and Hunter Helmer; and a sister-in-law, Eddie Mae Moore of Lake City. Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Amanda and John Henry Moore; siblings, JD Moore, John Beedy Moore, Dick Moore, Louise Player, Annie Dell Graham, Betty Mareka and Mildred Smith; and a great grandchild, Jovie Mew. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 25, 2019, at High Hill Free Will Baptist Church, Scranton.

Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 25, 2019, at High Hill Free Will Baptist Church, Scranton. A reception will follow the services in the High Hill Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall.

The family would like to extend a special “Thanks” to Dorothy Washington, especially Cindy Locklear and Agape Hospice Staff for their love and care.
