Shane’s Obituary Shane Dee Haggard, 51, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. He was born July 9, 1967 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to his parents, Darwin Lee Haggard and Ruth Ann Williams. Shane graduated from Jay High School, the Class Of 1985.
He went on to play percussion in the Oklahoma State Marching Band, then later completed his degree at East Mississippi. He worked on the Mississippi River for several years before starting his career at APAC in Vinita. It has been said that he left an everlasting influence of workmanship, friendship and dependability.
Although work was a big part of his life, his true love and passion was his family. He enjoyed spur of the moment weekend getaways with his wife. Anything from bookstores to baseball games and zombie walks with great friends.
When they weren’t away, you could find them at the Haggard Farm for Sunday dinners surrounded by all of the most important people in his life. During the last three years he spent much of his time just being Pop-Pop to his two grandsons. In the summers you could find them fishing, and in the winter they would be wrestling in the living room floor.
No matter where Shane was or what he was doing, the people around him were happy. He had such a strong love for people that radiated through his big hugs, warm smile, and fun sense of humor. He also had a passion for music.
He mainly played guitar and drums, but could figure out just about any instrument he was handed. This passion can been seen in both his children and his grandchildren. Although his time was short, his love and influence will last forever.
Shane is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Alpha Haggard and his Uncle, Bob Haggard. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Shelby Haggard of Eucha, OK; children, Casey Haggard and Mika Chitwood of Eucha, OK and Ryder Haggard and wife Alyssa of Southwest City, MO; 2 grandsons, Marshall and Logan Haggard of Southwest City, MO; parents, Darwin and Ruth Ann Haggard of Eucha, OK; brothers, Brady Haggard of Claremore, OK and Jason Haggard and wife Sally of Colcord, OK; 4 nieces, Kayleigh Canfield and husband Josh of Stillwater, OK, Julia, Ramsey and Sabra Haggard of Colcord, OK; 1 nephew, Silas Haggard of Colcord, OK; 3 aunts, Mary Jean Parish and husband Dana of West Fork, SC, Linda Lou Gordan and husband Glen of Bradford, AR and Barbara Haggard of Memphis, TN; 3 uncles, Robert J.
