Obituary for Sherry Wilding-White Sherry Wilding-White, 73, of Bedford, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at her home with family at her side. Raised in Yonkers, NY, she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963, the University of Pennsylvania in 1967, and later earned her master’s degree in Archival Management from the Simmons College Graduate School of Library & Information Science in 1992. After college, Sherry taught art at Miss Porter’s School before relocating to New Hampshire to start a family in 1969.

She and her late husband, Philip, raised three children in Bedford, two of whom now live in town with children of their own. After her children grew, she worked as an archivist at the New Hampshire Historical Society, in Concord. She was active in the Bedford community as a member of the Junior Women’s Club and Bedford Land Trust.

Sherry was an intrepid traveler, visiting all seven continents, and even returned to Antarctica, her favorite place, as recently as February. She also traveled the country in her RV with her cats as companions. Her talents for crafting were evident in her hand-made Christmas cards, elaborate quilts, beautiful knitting, and meticulous fiber spinning.

She enjoyed hiking, skiing, playing bridge, and time at her lake house. Sherry was pre-deceased by her husband, Philip Wilding-White, in 2002. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Keith Wilding, Hindi and John Durant, and son and daughter-in-law Carter and Tiffany Wilding-White, and four grandchildren.

A private celebration of her life will be scheduled this spring. In honor of her love of fiber arts and the land in her hometown, we ask that you raise a stitch (certainly don’t drop one! ), or a glass, or make a donation to the Bedford Land Trust, 53 Regional Drive, Suite 1, Concord, NH 03301.
