Sherwood’s Obituary Senior District Justice Sherwood R. Grigg, 74, of East Bangor, PA passed away Monday, March 25th, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Anderson Campus, Easton. Sherwood was born in Easton, PA on July 22, 1944, a son of the late Raymond and Eleanor (Jones) Grigg. He served as a District Justice for Northampton County Courts for 30 years, before being appointed a Senior District Justice.

Sherwood was a 1962 graduate of Bangor High School and took criminal and civil law classes at Penn State University and Wilson College in Chambersburg, where district justices go for continuing education classes. He was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church in Bangor, PA. Sherwood was a past President of the Tri-County District Justice Association, a past President of District 10 District Justice Association, a past President of the Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania, a former President of the Pennsylvania Minor Judiciary Education Board, a past President of Pennsylvania Special Court Judges Association, and a member of the Pennsylvania Rules on Civil Procedures Committee a lifetime member and former Exalted Ruler of Bangor Elks Lodge 1106,a past President of the Slate Belt Kidney Fund, a past President of the Slate Belt Quoit League, and a past President of the Slate Belt Slow Pitch League.

Sherwood is survived by two sisters, Kay Parsons, wife of Jim and Alice Diomedo, wife of Greg, a brother, Brian Grigg, sister-in-law Brenda Valletta and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Valletta, and a cousin Walter Moyer. Family and friends are invited to call from 10 AM to 12 PM on Monday, April 1, 2019, at James B. Gaffney Funeral Home 314 S. First Street, Bangor, PA.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be made at gaffneyparsons.com.
