Sherwood’s Obituary Westernville – Sherwood Waterman, 83, of Coleman Road passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2019 at home. He was born in Rome on July 11, 1935, a son of Walter and Calemas Platt Waterman. He was schooled in one room school houses on Webster Hill and Dunn Brook and the attended Boonville Schools.

Sherwood married the love of his life, Marilyn Ruth Coleman on July 7, 1956 at the Northwestern United Methodist Church. They were married 54 years until Marilyn passed away on March 28, 2010. He worked at local farms, construction in Plattsburg, NY and was a carpenter for local builders.

Sherwood then began employment in the Department of Defense at Griffiss Air Force Base from 1974-1995. He retired with 21 years of service. He was a member of the Western Fire Department since 1953 and a faithful member of the North Western United Methodist Church, where he served in several leadership capacity including, Trustee.

Surviving are daughters, Vicki and Dan Jackson, Shalimar, FL and Christine Anderson and partner, Kyle Weissmuller, Ava, NY; grandchildren, Ryann and Cliff Ennis, Jeremy and Tiffany Waterman, Nathan and Sara Waterman, Katelyn and Andrew Raber, Sam and Megan Anderson and Brandon Anderson; great grandchildren, Claire and Brooke Ennis, Raven, Elora, Tommy, Kayley and Joel Waterman and Lily Raber; sisters, Lorraine Lanston and Glenda and Teddy Buczek; numerous sister and brothers-in-law; aunt, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, David on April 5, 1996 and a brother, Darrell. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bernice Pfendler for all the love and support she has shown since our Mom passed away.

She has been an angel on earth for our Dad. Sherwood’s funeral will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the North Western United Methodist Church with Reverend Joan Dunn officiating. Calling hours will be from 12 – 3 p.m. prior the funeral.

Spring burial in Westernville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital. Arrangements are by Mills Funeral Home, Boonville.
