Socorro M. Faulk, 85 of Cottage Grove, OR passed away on May 19, 2018. She was born on May 18, 1933 in New York, NY to parents Domingo and Rosa (Vinales) Praez. Socorro graduated from Wadleigh High School and received some practical nursing education.

Coco married John A. Faulk Jr. in San Pedro, CA on December 31, 1968. She worked as a waitress in both California and New York, she prepared food for the airlines, worked for the school district in Hawaii, was a security officer for Elementary and High Schools as well as a homemaker. She and her husband John traveled the globe for 25 years while he was in the Army.

Coco enjoyed making stained glass, calligraphy, and volunteering at the senior center. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Coco and John never had any children of their own but she was known as the Godmother and has children all over the world.

Coco is survived by her husband of 50 years, John Faulk Jr., Cottage Grove, OR; sister, Rosalia Woods, Maryland; brother Armando Vega, New York; and sister Patricia Vega, Florida. A Rosary will be held on Friday, June 1 at 6:00 PM followed by a Visitation from 7:00 – 8:00 PM at Smith Lund Mills Funeral Chapel, 123 S. 7th St., Cottage Grove, OR. A Visitation at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral at 11:00 AM will be held on Saturday, June 2 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1025 N. 19th St., Cottage Grove, OR.

Interment at Silk Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, stjude.org or Carl Kebelbeck’s Knights of Columbus #3154, 1025 N. 19th St., Cottage Grove, OR 97424. Arrangements in the care of Smith Lund Mills Funeral Chapel, Cottage Grove, OR.
