Obituary of Susan Drake-Grubb Susan Ann Drake-Grubb, 69, Marion, received her eternal reward at 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion. A lifelong resident of Grant County, Susan was born in Marion to the late Henry “Buggs” and Vivienne Ellen (Wages) Drake, Jr., on April 7, 1949. Susan was a 1967 graduate of Marion High School.

She attended Indiana Wesleyan University and received her paramedic license through Home Hospital in Lafayette in 1987. She was a paramedic at Marion General Hospital and also ran a daycare out of her home. Susan attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Marion.

More than anything, Susan loved her family and enjoyed being with them. She was blessed with a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved watching her family grow. She was a funny, giving, and family-centered woman.

She will be missed by her brother, Stephen “Michael” Drake, Marion; aunt, Betty Poe, Upland; children, Rebecca M. (Brad) Dailey, Gas City, William M. Grubb, Fairmount, Robert “Jake” (Leslie) Grubb, Marion, Mary Margaret (Travis) Miller, Marion, and Elizabeth Ann (Dustin) Strong, Jonesboro; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Adam J. Whelchel. The family will receive visitors from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 325 E. N. A St., Gas City, IN. Father Christopher Roberts will be officiating with burial following at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Martin Community Center, 901 S. Branson St., Marion, IN 46953.
