Obituary of Alfred Ellis Alfred B. Ellis, 100 years old, Marion, went to be with the Lord in his home at 9:22 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Born in Stockport, OH, on April 6, 1918, Alfred was the son of Ephrim and Sarah (McManus) Ellis. He married his first wife, Martha Halsey, and she preceded him in death in 1978.

He married his second wife, Carolyn (Devine) Puckett, on August 25, 1984, and she survives. Alfred was a U.S. Army veteran and graduated with a B.S. degree in Engineering. He was a 32ᴼ Mason and worked at Gen Corp until his retirement.

He also had real estate properties. He enjoyed gardening tomatoes, bird watching, and watching the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers. He was very talented at woodworking and specialized in making birdhouses and tables.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Carolyn D. Ellis, Marion; son, George Ellis, Cincinnati, OH; step-sons, Kenneth F. Puckett, Marion, and David Q. (Anjali) Puckett, Chicago; step-daughter, Dr. Melissa (Dr. Alex) Argotte, KY; grandsons: Chad (Kayla) Ellis, Cincinnati; Shawn (Connie) Ellis, Cincinnati; Jason (Angie) Ellis, Van Buren; Kenny (Anna) Castro, Marion; Andrew (Samantha) Puckett, Marion; and Nicholas Puckett, Marion; great-grandsons: Gavin Ellis, Austin Ellis, Gabrielle Argotte, Fabricio Argotte, Kyle Ellis, and Jonah Ellis; great-granddaughters: Taylor, Markie, Keira, Breanna, Peyton, and Lilly Ellis; Gabriella, Sabrina, and Danielle Argotte; and Bibiana, Liliana, Miranda, and Audrey Puckett; great-great-grandchildren, Alex Castro and Mariana Castro; and sisters, Melba Kintz and Mildred Oliver, both from Newark, OH. In addition to his parents and first wife, Alfred was preceded in death by his son, John A. Ellis; six brothers; and five sisters. The family will receive visitors from 9 to 10 a.m. with Alfred’s funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave.
