Terry L. Payne June 26, 1951 – March 12, 2019 Terry L. Payne, 67, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:28 am in Franciscan Health – Michigan City. Private family services will be conducted. Private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.

The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements. He was born June 26, 1951 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Elmer and Dorothy (Steinhagen) Payne. On September 5, 1970 in Michigan City, IN he married Donna Blake who preceded him on March 1, 2019.

Surviving are a son, Matthew Payne of Michigan City, IN; two daughters, Lisa Urbanski and Michelle (Erik) Ritter, both of LaPorte, IN; five grandchildren, Noah Urbanski, Lily Urbanski, Rhys Ritter, Catherine Werner and Emily Ritter; sister, Catherine “Sue” Fillmore of Michigan City, IN; and two brothers, Charles (Sherry) Payne and Harry Payne, both of Michigan City, IN. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Robert Payne. Terry retired after 38 years as a welder/fabricator at New York Blower Co., LaPorte.

He was an avid Chicago White Sox fan and enjoyed fishing, grilling and spending time with his grandchildren. Contributions may be made to Share Foundation for the Handicapped, P.O. Box 400, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371 or to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. , Memphis, TN 38105.
