After a two-year battle with cancer, Timothy John Boehmer passed away peacefully on June 10, 2018, at his home in Anchorage, AK. He was 60 years old. Tim was born on February 26, 1958, in Rice Lake, WI, to parents Bob and Kappy Boehmer.
He grew up in a large, loving family with two brothers and one sister. He went to UW Madison and graduated in 1983 with a Pharmacy degree. On September 7, 1985, Tim married classmate Kim Saxe and moved up to Anchorage, AK where he accepted a position at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
There, the couple fell in love with the allure of the Alaskan wilderness and started a family. In 1997, they moved to Wisconsin to raise three children near relatives. In 2014, when the nest was empty, they traveled back up to Alaska to continue living the dream.
Tim was very passionate about his job and working with neonatal babies; he considered it his dream job. During his career, Tim was appointed to numerous positions including the President of both the Alaska and Wisconsin boards of Pharmacy and President of the Wisconsin Association of Perinatal Care. He liked to share his knowledge and zeal for health care through mentorships, lectures, and conversations.
Tim loved hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, camping, and spending time in the outdoors. He was a Badgers and Packers fan, and had the unique ability to speak to the team through the TV. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Tim was one of the most enthusiastic people you would ever meet and he loved to spread happiness to everyone, whether in the form of headstands, dispensing mints, pyroflatulence, or sporting one of his many Disney ties. In January of 2017, Tim was diagnosed unexpectedly with Stage 4 Appendiceal Cancer. He lived these last two years like the previous 58 before, with a strength and optimism that lifted people up until the last day of his life.
Tim is survived by his wife, Kim Boehmer; his daughter, Nikki Rohe (Dan); his sons, Karl and Robbie Boehmer; his mother, Kappy Boehmer; his sister, Lori Ryan (Jerry); his brothers, Steve Boehmer (Joanie) and Greg Boehmer (Annie); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Boehmer. Tim desired to be cremated so that he could blow in the wind among the trees, rivers, and mountains.
