Obituary for Verna Wert (Hoffman) Verna M. Hoffman Wert, 105, of Hummelstown, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 16, 1913 in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna Stout Hoffman. Verna worked for the former Mary Fox’s Doll Hospital, Hummelstown, for 27 years.

She was also an employee for the Department of Revenue in the Unemployment Compensation Department. She was a 1931 graduate of Middletown High School. Verna was a member of Stoverdale United Methodist Church, Derry Township.

She was also a member of the Hummelstown Golden Age Club. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Wert on January 17, 1997; and three siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Arlene J. See wife of Lory J., June E. Jones widow of Harry F. and Betty L. Kleinfelter wife of Neil all of Hummelstown; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2 PM in the Hummelstown Cemetery, corner of Lincoln and John Streets, with Pastor Scott R. Hover, officiating. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
