Obituary for Virgie Lee Turner Virgie Lee Turner, 86 of Jackson, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 06, 2019 at the Lutheran Home. She was born December 20, 1932 in Whitewater, Missouri to the late Arbon and Opal Ola (Rhodes) Slinkard. Virgie attended school at Gravel Hill, Missouri and also attended Gravel Hill United Methodist Church.

She worked at the International Shoe Company in Jackson for 27 years and then worked for the Jackson Wal-Mart for 17 years, where she retired. Survivors include a son, Dennis (Sharon) Turner of Sikeston, Missouri; three sisters, Virginia Hutson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Lavern Hobeck of Chester, Illinois and Sylvia (David) Crites of Sedgewickville, Missouri; sister-in-law, Gladys Slinkard of Scott City, Missouri; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jimmy, Victor and Larry Slinkard; an infant sister, Diane.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons- Jackson. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Brown officiating.

Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association or Lutheran Home Hospice. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Virgie Lee Turner please visit our Sympathy Store.
