Obituary for Volly Ruth Thornton Volly Ruth Thornton, Loving Wife and Mother, age 86, of Laurel, born April 13, 1932, passed away at her home, Friday, May 11, 2018. Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, May 14th from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with services to follow. Interment to follow at Lawn Haven Cemetery.

Bro. Robby Johnson will officiate. She was preceded in death by her parents, V.D and Ora Powell Smith; Brothers, Franklin D. Smith, H.L. (Buddy) Smith; Sisters, Mary Ella Walters, Katie J. Sasser, Dorothy Christine DeVries; and daughter, Jan Williams Galloway.

She is survived by her Loving Husband, Michael Thornton; Sons, James Williams, Jr. and wife Sharon, Paul Thornton and wife Christa; Stepsons, Douglas Thornton, wife Cindy, Mark Thornton, and Stepdaughter, Jane Thornton. She is also survived by her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Eric Williams, wife Lisa, children Abby and Emma, Aimee Hill, husband Brant, son Wesley; Lani Bell; Garrett Thornton, Bailey Thornton, Chance Clark, Morgan Clark, Jessica Rowland, children Nataleigh and Tanner, Daniel Thornton wife Lana, children Madison and Millie; Reagan Thornton. Pallbearers are Chester Thornton, Daniel Thornton, Garrett Thornton, Eric Williams, Chance Clark, and Bailey Nichols.
