Obituary for Vonny G. Davidson (Allendale) Vonny G. Davidson, 81, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:47 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at her residence in Murphysboro. Vonny was born on April 14, 1937, in Nevada City, California, to Ernie Allendale and Wilma (Greenfield) Allendale. She had worked as a salesperson; however Vonny was a homemaker and a mom.

She enjoyed finding information about genealogy and raising flowers and gardening. Her husband and she were very active in the Boy Scouts and she was an assistant Boy Scout Master. Mrs. Davidson was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church in Murphysboro.

Vonny married George Davison on April 20, 1957, in Reno, Nevada and he survives. Other survivors include four children Charlotte Davidson and George Davidson, Jr. and his wife Lois Davidson, all of Murphysboro, Shannon Samolinski and her husband Robert Samolinski of Tamaroa, and Thomas Davidson and his wife Kim Davidson of Makanda; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and one on the way; one brother Ronald Allendale of Walker, CA; and one sister Joann Tuttle of San Jose, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday, May 4, 2018, at Elm Street Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Allen officiating and burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday at the church.
