Obituary for Wilbur D. “Oscar” Longenecker Wilbur D. “Oscar” Longenecker, 84, formerly of Annville, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Londonderry Village, Palmyra. He was the husband of Pearl Heilman Longenecker with whom he celebrated 64 years in marriage this past May. Born in Annville on August 3, 1934, he was the son of the late Harry F. and Carrie Zeigler Longenecker and was employed as a drafting engineer for Bethlehem Steel Corp.

He then became the Transportation Director at Annville-Cleona High School for 10 years and was also a part -time driver for Annville Auto Center. Wilbur was a 1952 graduate of Annville High School, a member of the Annville Church of the Brethren, a life member of Kittatiny Rod and Gun Club and coached several youth sports teams. He loved his family first and foremost, the Phillies, and Penn State.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, James R. Longenecker and wife Nadine of Belair, MD, Gregg A. Longenecker and wife Lisa of Annville, daughter, Gale R. and husband Michael Tice of Lebanon, 11 grandchildren, Kate Figueroa, Becky Henderson, Greg Tice, Rachel Thompson, Ian Longenecker, Zac Longenecker, Tess Longenecker Samantha Leahy, Laura Caporaletti, Emily and Brenna Longenecker, 9 great grandchildren, Tony, Cara, Annie, Bree, PJ, Eliza, Rory, Lucas, and Elena. He was preceded in death by a son, Ted “Andy” Longenecker, brothers, John and Mark Longenecker, and sisters Esther Wentling and Helen Foltz. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11AM at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville.

Interment will be held in Grand View Memorial Park. There will be a visitation held from 10AM until 11AM at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Annville Church of the Brethren, 495 E. Maple Street, Annville, PA 17003.
