Obituary for Robert J. Steinbauer Robert J. Steinbauer, 88, of Palmyra, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late, Mardell B. (Coady) Steinbauer. They would have celebrated 66 years in marriage this past August.

Robert was born in Altoona on March 28, 1930 to the late Ludwig Schmid and Kathryn (Steinbauer) D’Antonio. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War. Robert was a police chief in Bellwood from 1976-1978 and he had been a police officer for Palmyra from 1968-1976.

He had also attended the State Police Academy. He loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Shelby and her husband Tom Lenker of Fairfield, Sherry S. and her husband James Rice of Annville, Robert J. Steinbauer, II of Montana, Tammi Steinbauer (Fred Wagner) of Lebanon, Brandi and her husband Bill Rininger of Altoona, 10 grandchildren, Angel, Shannon, Michael, Shawna, Robert, Shaye, Jarrid, Elise, Taylor, Kody, and 9 great grandchildren, Hailey, Addison, Peyton, Morgan, Keith, Chloe, Brayden, Dash, and Espyn.

He was preceded in death by a brother Francis D’Antonio. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 11 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with military honors. There will be a procession forming at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main Street, Annville at 10:20 AM.
