Obituary for John Bruce Kreifels John Bruce Kreifels, 76, of Annville, PA died peacefully and surrounded by family, Saturday, September 1, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Justine Julia Kreifels, daughter, Brigitte Kreifels Jones, husband J. Price Jones and grandsons, Ramsey P. Jones and Ian O. Jones of Atlanta, GA and son, John Justin Kreifels and granddaughter, Morgan C. Kreifels of Lebanon, PA, sister, Judith Hill and husband Bud of Portland, OR. He is preceded in death by his brother Robert (Bob) Kreifels of Portland, OR.

Born in 1941 in Los Angeles, CA to Ina and Clyde Kreifels, John grew up in Portland, OR where he graduated from Central Catholic HS in 1959 and the University of Portland in 1963. He joined the Army in 1963 where he attended the Language School in Monterey, CA before becoming a German language translator in Berlin, Germany. He also acted and directed in the Berlin International Theatre.

John taught German language, German Club, English and coached tennis at Annville-Cleona HS, before retiring in 1997. His varied interests included organic gardening, animal husbandry, handmaking bow and arrows, the NY Times crossword puzzle, travel, reading, and spending time with beloved friends and family. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir for 15 years, a member of the Harrisburg Scottish Country Dance Society, and a member of German Club (Stammtisch).
