William “Sam”‘s Obituary William Samuel “Sam” Morris, 77, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Morris was born on August 16, 1941 in Woodbridge, VA and was a son of the late Clarence Decatur and Ida Frances (Braithwaite) Morris. Sam graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 1960 and later attended Eastern Mennonite College.

Sam owned and operated Flowers By Sydney in Harrisonburg. He later worked as a manager in consumer credit for many years. He loved work in his yard and tend his flowers at home.

Mr. Morris also loved antiquing and going out to eat with the Trobaugh family. On June 16, 1963 he married the former Linda Payne who survives. In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by a son, Christopher Morris, of San Diego, CA and a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Morris.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Stanley Morris. The Funeral service will be held on Saturday February 16, 2019 at 2 PM at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at the Singers Glen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 6 until 7 PM at the funeral home. Those wishing may share a memory or an online condolence by visiting www.
