Wilma Louise Brewer, 90, of Vergennes, passed away at 7:41 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019, at the Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab in Pinckneyville, Illinois. Wilma was born on July 26, 1928, in Sandridge Township, Illinois, to Rollie Hobbs and Rosa (Braun) Hobbs. She had worked at the Brown Shoe Company, and later went to work at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in the kitchen and then for housekeeping.

Mrs. Brewer had been a member of Sato Baptist Church, Ava, Illinois, for over fifty five years. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, and taking care of her home. She also liked playing cards.

Wilma married Loren Brewer on March 17, 1945, in Corning, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1995. She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Carolyn (Ray) Weston of Vergennes, Joyce (Connie) Kramer of Carbondale, and Donna (Lou) Loepker of Freeburg, Illinois; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter Brenda Egbert , who passed away on April 12, 2012, three brothers, four sisters, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Geary officiating and burial at Murdale Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
