Obituary for Alfred M. Klingler Alfred M. Klingler, 97, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House. Alfred was born June 8, 1921 in Evansville to the late Peter and Maria (Wittmer) Klingler. He worked as a tool and die maker for Whirlpool Corporation for almost fifty years and was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral.

Alfred served his country as a veteran of the United States Army during World War II. Surviving Alfred are his sons, Glenn Hicks of Salt Lake City, UT, Jeffrey Klingler of Antioch, CA and Timothy (Becky) Klingler of Evansville; a daughter-in-law, Rosemary Hicks, two sisters, Mary Wolf of Texarkana, TX and Edna Williams of Evansville; thirteen grandchildren, Jennifer (Thomas Huggins) Hicks, Elizabeth Delano Hicks, James D. (Lizbeth Creech) Hicks, Joseph (Jessica) Hicks, Matthew (Tracy Bee) Hicks, Rebecca (Kelly) Green, Karen (Eric) McDonald, Tina (Derrick) Barrett, Michael (Bobbie) Hicks, Bryan Hicks, Ann (Jeremy) Weiner, Kevin (Courtney) Tooke and Katelyn Klingler; twenty five great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Regina (Lynn) Klingler and a son, James Hicks.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 20, 2018 at St. Benedict Cathedral, Rev. John Brosmer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
