Our loving friend, father, and grandfather, Allen R. Berrett passed away July 23, 2018 in his home. He was born April 6, 1930, in Ogden, Utah the third of nine children of Charles R and Myrtle F Berrett. He spent his early years in North Ogden, Utah.

He attended North Ogden, JR. High and graduated from Weber high. In 1948 he was awarded a basketball scholarship to Utah State University, in Logan, Utah.

He left USU in 1950. He married Loleta Bowman January 21, 1951. Allen was inducted into the US Army April, 1951.

He spent one year in Korea during the Korean conflict. After being honorably discharged he return to USU, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by the International Harvester Co., Thiokol Corp.

, the Boeing Co. and the aerospace division of Hercules Inc. Allen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served several calling in the Roy 14th ward and was a high priest. Surviving are Allen’s daughter Lee Ann (Joseph) Tansock and his five grandchildren: Kyle Tansock, Katie Tansock, Karlie Tansock, Allison Christensen and Clint (Kylee) Christensen.

Allen was proceeded in death by his wife Loleta and his daughter, JoAnn (Michael) Christensen. In lieu of flowers, the family request a contribution in Allen’s name be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 11:00 AM with a visitation from 10:00- 11:00 AM and services beginning at 11 at the Roy 14th Ward building, 5850 South 2575 West in Roy.
