Arlo’s Obituary Arlo D. Pike Sr, 79, of Scarborough passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 surrounded by his family. Arlo was born on August 21, 1939 in LaGrange, Maine to Kenneth and Thelma Pike. A graduate of Scarborough High School and the Southern Maine Vocational Institute, Arlo worked for the George H. Stanford Construction Company for several years before starting Pike Construction, which he ran until his retirement.

Arlo was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who loved life. Judy, his wife, was the love of his life from the first time he met her at a high school dance and the two were seldom seen apart. Arlo and Judy loved camping with family and friends and could be found on most weekends at area campgrounds with their children and grandchildren.

Arlo’s passions in life always involved his family and he could always be found attending athletic events, band concerts and other activities his children and grandchildren were involved in. He was also an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing with his parents, brothers and nephews. Arlo was a member of the 1951 Little League World Series Team from Maine and was a standout athlete in high school in both basketball and baseball, where he was captain for both teams.

After high school, Arlo played fast pitch softball for the Olympia Aces out of Portland and traveled all over Maine and New England. Arlo also served in the Air National Guard for 6 years in the late fifties and early sixties. Predeceased by his parents, his daughter Sandi J. Pike, his brothers Delbert Pike and Wayne Pike and his sister, Pricilla Estes, Arlo is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy (Hall) Pike, his children Terri Pike, Heidi Pike and her two daughters Sydnie Pike and Sandi Donahue, Arlo Pike Jr. and his wife Heather and their two children, Allison Pike and Arlo Pike III, and his sister Linda Ceaser and her husband Philip.

Arlo touched so many lives and his love of life will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Westbrook Animal Refuge Center or the Gosnell Hospice Facility in Scarborough. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough followed by a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. A reception will be held after services.
