Services for Mr. Ashley Clinton, age 93 formerly of Lindale, are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday February 9, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bryan Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Cemetery with honors by the Lindale Volunteer Fire Department and services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Mr. Clinton died Friday, February 1, 2019 in Arlington.

He was born in Lindale on April 21, 1925 to the late Gordon and Lois Clinton. Mr. Clinton was involved in the auto parts industry in East Texas for over 50 years. He served about 20 years with the Lindale Volunteer Fire Department including one term as Chief of the Department.

He was a member of the Lindale First United Methodist Church beginning as a small child. Mr. Clinton was a very active member there until he moved to the DFW area to live with his family in 2012. Throughout the years he has been active in Sunday school, Youth Group and many other church activities.

Mr. Clinton served on the Finance Committee, the Pastor Parish Committee, and member of the church board for many years and Chairman for one year. He also served as Lay Leader and as Sunday School Superintendent. He has been an active member of the Men’s Sunday School Class for many years and even taught the class for a short time.

Mr. Clinton was a member of the George Lake Men’s Sunday School at his passing. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James M. Clinton and Dr. Thomas A. Clinton, niece, Lynne Clinton Willett, and great niece, Channon Gail Christian. Mr. Clinton is survived by his nieces and nephews, Delbert Allen Clinton and wife, Danna of Broussard, Louisiana; Cathy Clinton St. John and husband, Craig of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Deena Clinton Christian of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Tony Ramey Clinton of Grand Prairie; 1 great niece, 4 great nephews, and 2 great-great nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 AM prior to the service Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ashley Clinton please visit our Sympathy Store.
