A gathering of friends and family for Lois Juanita (Sullivan) Chambers, age 90, of Salado, Texas is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas with Rev. John Roach officiating. Interment will follow at the Lindale City Cemetery.

Lois passed away after a short Illness, Monday, February 4, 2019 in Temple, Texas. She was born August 29, 1928 in Midland, Texas to the late Walter and Edna Mae (Sherman) Sullivan. Before moving to Salado, Lois lived in The Woodlands, Texas following years of living in the Lindale area and living overseas.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Salado and previously of Oak Ridge North Baptist Church, Oak Ridge North, Texas. Lois was wife, mom, homemaker, world traveler (living in South America, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean area), cattle woman, golf club house manager (Ahwaz, Iran) and a seamstress. She loved sewing, Bridge, Canasta, bowling, crossword and word puzzles, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Veachil Novell Chambers in 1997 and their two sons, Jerry Lynn Chambers in 1947 and Joe Mike Chambers in 1953. She was the youngest of her family and survived her five sisters (Jane Hull, Marjorie Pharr, Mevagene Hallman, Selma Redwine, and Naomi Baker) and one brother (Sherman Sullivan). She is survived by her son and his wife, Robert and Kim (Covey) Chambers of Salado and her daughter, Debra (Chambers) Caldwell of Mabank; grandchildren Bryce and Ben Chambers of Harker Heights, Texas, and Anna Caldwell of Mabank; great-grandchildren Shay and Cailin Chambers of Harker Heights, and Everly Goodson of Mabank; plus numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

She was the official “Mawmaw” of Deer Crossing to her neighbors, young and old. Serving as pallbearers will be Bo Partney, Jake Partney, Rick Rice, Zack McCoy, Cody McCoy, and Cailin Chambers. Honorary pallbearer is Robby Grant.

The family extends sincere appreciation to Temple Meridian Rehab and New Century Hospice for their professional care and concern extended to Lois. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel before the funeral service.
