Obituary for Betty J. McLain Betty McLain died Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Jefferson Park Facility in Dandridge, TN, after a brief illness. She is survived by children: Cathy (Raymond) Walker of Bulls Gap, Karen (Chris) Wright of Bulls Gap, and Chris (Sylvia) McLain of Strawberry Plains; grandchildren: Brent of Bulls Gap, Tessa (George) Mack of Morristown, Leah Walker of Aiken, SC, and Callie (James) Braswell of Morganton, NC and Jennifer Jackson of Strawberry Plains; great-grandchildren: Bailee and Brandon Clark, Aidan Walker, Kellan and Alizay Mack, and Jarrett Jackson; sisters: Sue Farmer and Ruby (John) Glasscock; brother: Danny (Marilyn) Cockreham; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband: Coy; parents: John and Maggie Cockreham; and grandson: Craig Stallings.

Betty and Coy were married in 1951 and lived in the Bulls Gap/St. Clair area for most of their married life. Betty was an LPN for 27 years and retired from Signature Healthcare in Rogersville. She attended Bulls Gap Baptist Church for several years before moving to Dandridge.

The family wish to thank the staff of Jefferson Memorial Hospital ICU, Jefferson Park at Dandridge facility and Smoky Mountain Hospice for their care and concern. Visitation will be 5:00 pm -7:00 pm on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville with funeral to follow at 7:00 pm. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, July 10, at 11:00 am at Hamblen County Memory Gardens.
