Obituary for Kenneth Brooks Kenneth Brooks, age 91, of Mooresburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. He was preceded in death by parents, Herbert D. and Golden Cinnamon Brooks and wife Leora. Kenneth is survived by sons Roger (wife Karen) and Gregory; grandchildren, Laura Dalton (husband Brandon) and David Brooks; great grandchildren, Allison Brooks and Gracie Lyons.

Kenneth was a member of Gills Chapel Baptist Church where he was a deacon and taught Sunday School many many years. He was a member of, and past Master of Overton Lodge #5 and a Scottish Rite Mason for over 50 years. When Kenneth was 3 years old his parents bought the farm where he became a lifelong farmer having started working with a team of horses as a young boy and continued his involvement with the same farm until his death.

He served as a Hawkins County Farm Bureau director for several years and was active in the Hawkins County Livestock Association during the years when feeder calf sales were held in Rogersville. Like many farmers in our area he worked another job as well as farming. Kenneth was employed by Citizens Union Bank for 34 years where he truly enjoyed daily interaction with both fellow employees and customers.

Almost any conversation with Kenneth in recent years included farming, banking and the church. The family will receive friends on Saturday (09/22/18) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville with the funeral service to follow. Rev.

Kenneth Luckadoo will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Curtis Johnson, David Brooks, Kenny Harrell, Eli Winstead, Gene Gladson, and Phil Harrell. Bobby Price, Ken Givens, Bill Jenkins, Doyle Shanks, Johnny Myers, Clay Brooks, Darrell Price, and Keith Gladson will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Burial will be at 2:00 pm Sunday in the Larmer Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www. christiansells.com.
