Obituary for Mrs. Betty Orr Garrett Betty Orr Garrett, 79, of 220 Oconee Creek Road, Walhalla, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at GHS Cottingham Hospice House. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Garrett is the daughter of the late James Lawrence Orr and Pauline Abercrombie Orr. She was retired from Schneider Electric and was a member of Salem First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and choir member.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by son: Philip Garrett (Debbie) of Walhalla; daughter: Cindy Hafner (Tim) of Walhalla; grandchildren; Brooks Garrett (Kaitie), Landon Garrett and Garrett Hafner, great-granddaughter: Tindsley Hafner; brothers: Alfred J. Orr of Salem; Tony A, Orr of Seneca. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her first husband: Leonard J. Garrett, Jr; brothers: Gary Orr, Donnie Orr and by a nephew: Christopher Orr. Betty will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and for “Sunday Dinner” at Nanny’s house.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Salem First Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, June 18, 2018 at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Salem First Baptist Church, PO Box 89, Salem, SC 29676 or GHS Hospice of the Foothills, Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672.

The family wishes to thank everyone that cared for our Mother affiliated with GHS Hospice and well as Dr. Giguere and staff at the Cancer Center of Seneca.
