Obituary for Mr. John Elgin Owens John Elgin Owens, 71, husband of Vivian Nichols Owens, of 115 Gillespie Rd. , Seneca, passed away, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Residences at Park Place. A native of Tamassee, SC, Mr. Owens was the son of the late Joseph Elgin and Rosa Phillips Owens.

He retired from Duke Energy and also from the National Guard. Mr. Owens was a member of Cheohee Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Owens is survived by his daughter: Rhonda Littleton of Summerville, SC.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 11, 2018, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Cheohee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM, Monday, June 11, 2018, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tamassee DAR School: P.O. Box 8, Tamassee, SC 29686.
