Obituary for Mr. Edward James Lyda Edward James Lyda, 83, husband of Patricia Ann Dickson Lyda, of 441 Sunny Vail Circle, Salem, passed away, Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at his home. A native of Salem, SC, Mr. Lyda was the son of the late General Mark Lyda and Annie Mae Stafford Lyda. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Lyda is survived by his children: Scott Williams, Greg Williams and Todd Williams all of Salem, SC, Kristy Prater (Mac) of Seneca, SC, Gary Lyda (Anna Marie) of Joanna, SC, Scott Lyda (Tasha) of Laurens, SC, Patricia Williams (Jeff) of Lilburn, GA and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his father, Mr. Lyda was preceded in death by his son: Terry Lyda; and brother: George Lyda. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Lyda Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association- SC Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd. , Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
