Peoria – Billie Joe Burns, Sr., 69, of Peoria, formerly of Princeville, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Heartland Health Care in Peoria. Billie was born on February 21, 1949 in Abingdon, to Charles R. and Agnes L. (Foster) Burns. He married Barbara Sue Creason in 1969 in East Peoria; she survives.

Cady of Washington, Billie Burns, Jr., of Peoria, and Tammie (Mike) Peirson of Peoria; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Billie was a hardworking father and husband. He worked at Gary’s Red Fox, Empire Gas, and Long Rock in Princeville, and for American Vinyl Craft Windows and Siding of Peoria, Walmart, Hudson Food Processing Plant, and Terry’s Gas Station all in Peoria.

He loved to play euchre, texas holdem and poker. He loved family gatherings, cookouts, playing bingo, and listening to music and dancing. Life was always a party to him, and he never knew a stranger.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Princeville. Rev. Fred Reiner will officiate.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Princeville Township Cemetery.
