Obituary for Bobby G. Potts Bobby G. Potts, 87, of Hallam, PA passed away September 20, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, PA. He was the loving husband of Genevieve “Gen” D. (Lindenberger) Potts. Born October 4, 1930 in Hellam, he was the son of the late Lester and Romaine (Forry) Potts.
Bobby was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War where he was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal with four Bronze Stars. He retired in 1989 as a pipe fitter for Caterpillar, Inc. Bobby was a 1949 graduate of Hellam High School. He was a member of Saint James Lutheran Church in Hallam, member of Galeton Lodge 826 Loyal Order of Moose, life member of Kreutz Creek Valley VFW Post 7045, Hellam and a founding member of the Tri-County Rod and Gun Club.
Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking in his workshop but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Genevieve “Gen”, he is survived by his sister, Marlene and her husband, George Ness of Dallastown and two nephews, Denny Potts of Hallam and Wayne Potts of Drum, PA. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market Street, York with Pastor Paul N. Frank, Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Lancaster County. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends will be received Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
