Boyd Clifton Harper, 93, died peacefully at home on March 6, 2019 surrounded by family members. He was a strong, hard worker whose physical body had just worn out. He was born on June 21, 1925 to Emma Jacobine Hunger and Clifton Hyrum Harper in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

He was one of eight children. He grew up working on the family orchard. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School.

Upon returning from his service in World War II, in Japan, he served a full-time mission in California for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married his eternal companion, Carol Marie Osguthorpe, on September 8, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised five children.

He worked at Geneva Steel for 37 years retiring in 1986. Boyd was a humble, faithful man who enjoyed being with his family. The family especially enjoyed the many family vacations spent together.

His vacation time from work was always spent camping and traveling with the family. Upon retiring he served a second full-time mission with his sweetheart in the Minnesota, Minneapolis mission. He served diligently in many church positions throughout his life.

He especially enjoyed serving in the Provo and Mt. Timpanogos Temples for over 19 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and six of his siblings, survived by his brother Darrell.

He is survived by his wife, Carol and children – Bruce (Terri), Jolene (Gary), Diane (Brent), Jared (Shelly) and Marilyn (Mark). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Timpanogos Fifth Ward Chapel, 800 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 10:00 – 11:45 a.m. prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Military honors conducted by American Legion Post 72. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
