Obituary for Burnie Arnold Higginbotham Sr. Burnie Arnold Higginbotham, Sr. of Mt. Olive, Alabama went home to Heaven on July 3, 2018 at age 95 to join his loving wife of 76 years, Viola Fields Higginbotham. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Rodolphus “Doc” and Sallie Gurley Higginbotham; brothers, Olen Higginbotham, Ollie (Ruth) Higginbotham, Vera (Billie) Higginbotham, J.T. (Margaret) Higginbotham, Drew (Ruth) Higginbotham; and sisters, Lucy Mae (Clyde) Dean, Glacie (Charlie) Crow, Era (Lawrence) Blankenship, and Helen (Grover) Ervin.

He is survived by his son, Burnie Arnold (Carolyn) Higginbotham, Jr.; daughter, Tammy (Philip) Patterson; grandsons, Burnie Arnold Higginbotham, III and Chris Woods; granddaughters, Bonnie (Gary) George, Anetra Montgomery and Shannon Woods; and several great grandchildren. Mr. Higginbotham ran the family business, Higginbotham Oil Company, for over sixty years. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene, Gardendale, Alabama.

He was loved and will be missed by many. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. with the service to follow at 1:30 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home, 2214 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071. Burial will be at Mt.
