Carmen A. Diaz Of Lansing, MI and formerly of Hollywood, FL passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the age of 84. Carmen was born on November 13, 1933 in San Juan, Puerto Rico the daughter of Raphael and Carmen (Gonzalez) Rivera. She moved to the United States at age 16 and lived in New Haven, CT before moving to New York City where she worked as a social worker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Diaz; sons, Billie, Bobby and Richard Diaz; granddaughter, Debbie Diaz grandson Billy Diaz ; brothers, Jesus and Ralph Rivera. Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Vicky) Strauss; son, Freddie Diaz (Stacy); grandchildren, Crystal (John) Schultz, Nina and Fredito Diaz, Robert, Benjamin (Lanette), Richard and Steven Strauss, Richie (Kylie) Diaz, Natalie Diaz , Lucy Diaz, Tina, Bobby and Angel Diaz, Frankie Rodriguez; 36 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Iris Jacques and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service.
