MADISON – Carol Delores McDonald, age 89, died Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Capitol Lakes Health Center in Madison. She was born February 17, 1929 in Madison, the daughter of Hilbert and Ella (Tofsrud) Borchers. Carol met her husband, Joseph Morris McDonald on a double date and they were married 64 years, before Joe preceded Carol in death in 2013.

Together, Joe and Carol loved traveling and camping, taking several trips each year. Carol was a housekeeper for the Meriter Retirement Center. She was an active member of St. Bernard, and previously of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

She was a loving wife and mother and was very dedicated to her family. She was an excellent baker and loved making Christmas cookies and enjoyed puzzles. Carol is survived by her three sons, Michael McDonald of West Allis, Gerald McDonald of Madison, and James (Linda) McDonald of Sun Prairie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Roland and sisters, Virginia and Charlotte. The family wishes to thank the staff of Capitol Lakes Health Center, Heartland Hospice, Good People, and St. Mary’s Hospital. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 4, 2018 at ST BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave.

, Madison, with Fr. Michael Radowicz presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 3 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave. , Madison and 1 hour prior to the Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church, Madison.
