CHARLOTTE’s Obituary Charlotte Anne Hoffman Ellis, 74, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at 3:34 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center with her family at her side. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Nellie Group and Hilltoppers. Charlotte had worked at Whirlpool Corporation and then became an X-Ray Technician through the Welborn Baptist Hospital Diploma Program.

She then worked at Methodist Hospital and in the offices of Dr. Alan Johnson and Dr. Agustin Sierra. After retiring as an X-Ray Technician, Charlotte worked at Methodist Hospital Home Health in the billing department. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed watching UK basketball, and made the best chicken and dumplings in town.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Frederick R. “Fred” Ellis, who died April 11, 2013; her parents, Charles Henry and Anna Marie Smith Hoffman; and one brother, Charles Herman Hoffman. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Marie Ellis of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister, Joyce Wilson and her husband, Robert, of Hardinsburg, Kentucky; three brothers, William “B.J.” Hoffman of Reed, Kentucky, Richard Hoffman of Roseburg, Oregon, and James Hoffman and his wife, Helen, of Elberfeld, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Bertha Nicholson of Henderson, Kentucky; nieces and nephews; cousins; and her granddog, Lily. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

The Reverend Mike Snyder will officiate. Private burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
